DISC DECOMPRESSION THERAPY

Have you seen the newspaper ads that hype a “revolutionary treatment” for low back pain or sciatica?  The ad directs you to a website or a 1-800 number to receive a free report.  There should not be such a mystery in the treatment that has saved thousands of patients from debilitating back surgery.  The treatment they are enticing you with is Disc Decompression.

My website will give you a brief overview on Disc Decompression Therapy, including clinical studies that support its effectiveness.  I utilize simple, yet sophisticated equipment manufactured by the leading rehabilitation equipment manufacturer in the US, The Chattanooga Group.  The FDA approved Triton® DTS Decompressive Traction System is the most popular decompression unit in the world.

lumbarDisc Decompression is Effective in Helping:

  • Sciatica
  • Herniated or Bulging Discs
  • Acute/Chronic Back Pain
  • Acute/Chronic Neck Pain
  • Shooting pain in arms and legs
  • Numbness in arms and legs
  • Numbness in hands and feet

What is Disc Decompression Therapy and how does it work?
Disc Decompression Therapy is a pain-free alternative to conventional methods of treating herniated or bulging discs, sciatica, pinched nerves, and chronic neck/low back pain.  Disc Decompression is a non-surgical, traction-based therapy that isolates an injured disc and places the disc under negative pressure.

The part of the disc that has herniated or protruded can be pulled back within the normal confines of the disc because of the negative pressure that is created.  The negative pressure also improves blood flow and important nutrient exchanges to the injured area, accelerating the healing process.

The uniqueness of the Disc Decompression procedure makes it a very effective method for relieving pain due to the aforementioned conditions.

Decompression creates a vacuum which pulls the disc herniation or protrusion back within the normal confines of the disc.

Study 1
"Eighty-six percent of ruptured intervertebral disc (RID) patients achieved 'good' (50-89% improvement) to 'excellent' (90-100% improvement) results with decompression. Sciatica and back pain were relieved." "Of the facet arthrosis patients, 75% obtained 'good' to 'excellent' results with decompression."

Study 2
"Serial MRI of 20 patients treated with the decompression table shows in our study up to 90% reduction of subligamentous nucleus herniation in 10 of 14. Some rehydration occurs detected by T2 and proton density signal increase. Torn annulus repair is seen in all."

Study 3
"Results showed that 86% of the 219 patients who completed the therapy reported immediate resolution of symptoms, while 84% remained pain-free 90 days post-treatment. Physical examination findings showed improvement in 92% of the 219 patients, and remained intact in 89% of these patients 90 days after treatment."
